Rugs and Accent Pillows…Bigger is Better

Go Big or Go Home. The right rugs and accent pillows can make a room. When selecting these details you want to make sure you choose items that are larger in scale.

THROW PILLOWS-

4) PILLOW SIZES:

GO LARGE! Swap out those small pillows for larger sizes. The higher the back and arms of a sofa, the larger pillow it can accommodate. Interior design is as much about psychology and ergonomics as it is about creating beauty.  A few great standard sizes include 18", 20" and 23" square pillows. If possible, go with a down blend filler. With accent pillows…… bigger is better.

Attributes of down—

Pair pillow covers with a down blend filler when possible. It will hold its fluff longer and be more comfortable too.

RUGS

5) NEW RUG/NEW SIZE:

A new rug can change a room completely. The correct size is important when selecting rugs. The goal is to make sure all of your furniture is on the rug with approximately 10-12" between the rug and wall. With all case pieces sitting directly on the floor.

Bigger is better.
