KITCHEN-

1) HARDWARE:

ACCENTS-
2) POPS OF COLOR:

WINDOW TREATMENTS-

3) DAPERIES:

Simple panel draperies are a great addition to any room and work well on a multitude of window styles and sizes. Keeping it simple goes a long way. Remember to consider how you use the room. Panels are available in different fabric options, from sheers that let light in, to black out curtains for bedrooms. The correct length and width is very important when selecting the right treatment. Make sure the curtain hem just grazes the floor. A simple rule to remember is to measure for 6-12" above the top window molding and 6-12" on either side of the window moldings. This will allow for more light to come into your room and gives the illusion of a larger space.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

THROW PILLOWS-

4) PILLOW SIZES:

GO LARGE! Swap out those small pillows for larger sizes. The higher the back and arms of a sofa, the larger pillow it can accommodate. Interior design is as much about psychology and ergonomics as it is about creating beauty.  A few great standard sizes include 18", 20" and 23" square pillows. Go with a down blend filler, if possible.

Go Large

Pair pillow cover with a down blend filler when possible. It will hold its fluff longer and be more comfortable too.

RUGS

5) NEW RUG/NEW SIZE:

A new rug can change a room completely. The correct size is important when selecting rugs. The goal is to make sure all of your furniture is on the rug with approximately 10-12" between the rug and wall. With all case pieces sitting directly on the floor.

See visual reference of rug with measurements above.

Broadloom rugs can be cut and bound according to your needs, offer the versatility of custom rug sizes and are available in many color options.

ART WORK

6) LARGE, SIMPLE ART:

When hanging art you want the center of the frame at eye level, or approximately 60" from the floor. When hanging above a case piece or sofa, make sure there is at least 3-4" between the bottom of frame and furniture. Art doesn't have to be complicated or busy. Monochromatic textures are a great way to implement interest to a room.

Focal Point

Think bigger and simple art work. The right size can create the perfect focal point and bring new life to your dated decor.

TEXTILES

7) BEDDING:

Create a solid foundation for your bed with sheets that have a great feel which you love. Next, add a fluffy down filler to your duvet cover. (Keep in mind the weight of the filler should match your preferred sleeping temperature). Then, layer on a throw at the end of the bed, or a coverlet under or on top of the duvet. There is not a wrong way to approach what works for you. Keep decorative pillows to a minimum as they are cumbersome during the night hours.
